Starring as Dave Lizewski, Aaron Johnson character Kick-Ass is not only comedic, and quirky, but most importantly relatable to all of us who have gone through high school. As a New York City high school student, Dave is inspired by the thought of becoming a real-life superhero; so he puts together a mask and suit and begins patrolling the streets of New York to fight crime.

In his first attempt at fighting crime, Kick-Ass receives an extremely severe beating and stabbing by local thugs who end up sending him to the hospital. To save his life, doctors are left with the sole decision putting together metal braces throughout his whole body so that he can walk again. With the metal braces, Kick-Ass retains a unique ability to tolerate higher levels of beating and pain giving him “supernatural” powers.

As the movie develops, more characters come into play, including Hit Girl, Bid-Daddy, and Red Mist. Each character’s story becomes a sub-plot of the film, which eventually combines together with Kick-Ass’s story.
